PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Many schools have been struggling since the pandemic. Veteran teachers have retired, leading to a critical staffing shortage, and research finds that nearly 50% of new teachers quit in less than five years.  As a result of COVID,  many new, younger teachers received virtual, rather than in-person training, which may have left them with gaps in their knowledge. I can help to identify the areas where teachers need support, and provide the coaching they need to successfully meet their students' needs.

PARENT EDUCATION

Students who attend schools with high parent involvement enjoy better outcomes. One of the most effective ways to increase parent involvement is through parent education. Parent education topics include: Executive Function, Planes of Development, Montessori at Home, and Supporting your child's Independence.

ANTI-BIAS TRAINING

Taking the time to examine the complexity of our own identities is the first step in breaking down our own biases. Talking about bias can be difficult and uncomfortable, yet this work is valuable and can be transformative.  For over 20 years, I've guided teachers, students, administrators and others to do this important work. Whether you are looking for a 2-hour workshop for a small group, a multi-day intensive for an entire staff or something in between, I will work with you to design a training to meet your specific needs.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Are you looking for a speaker for an upcoming event?  I've delivered keynotes at several Montessori conferences and would be happy to work with you to develop a talk that meets your needs. My past keynotes include: "Paving the Way to Fully Inclusive Montessori Education," "Social Justice is at the Heart of Montessori Education," and  "Examining Bias."

TEAM BUILDING

Whoever said, "Team work makes the dream work" was right! My team building workshops are fun and interactive- providing a balance of games and laughter with reflection and discussion. Team building helps faculty and staff get to know each other better,  improves morale and builds community.

SOCIAL JUSTICE RESIDENCIES

Creating a just, respectful and inclusive school culture takes work. A social justice residency demonstrates a commitment to doing that work. During a period of time that we set together, I will work the students and teachers in your school on a wide variety of anti-racist, anti-bias topics. All lessons are thoughtfully planned and developmentally appropriate.
